Melodic Caring Project’s 2nd Annual Gala

by: Dante DeGraaf on

This past weekend was the Melodic Caring Project's 2nd Annual Raise a Record Gala Fundraiser and Auction. The event started with a silent auction, tray passed appetizers, complimentary drinks, live music by the Seattle Rock Orchestra and of course a photo booth!

The host for the night was the incredibly talented, local celebrity, Chris Cashman from the sketch comedy television show The [206].  Los Angeles recording artist Tyrone Wells also performed live and gave shout outs streamed to several hospitalized “RockSTARS”.  This was the highlight of the night for me. Knowing with every name read and story told, they each were in their hospital rooms dealing with something incredibly difficult. But because of the Melodic Caring Project, they could feel the energy of the room as we supported them by cheering them on.

It was incredibly moving to see the Melodic Caring Project in action.

RockSTAR Faith who suffers from a  rare Auto Inflammatory Disease called CRMO, who told an extremely articulate story of her journey and the impact that the Melodic Caring Project has had on her, left everyone in tears. Fellow RockSTAR Cassidy was also there and has a spirit and energy that was amazingly infectious. It was a pleasure to get to meet her and tell her what an inspiration she is.

There was a live auction with items such as a Playa del Carmen Mexico Beach Escape, Seahawk game tickets and autographed football by Doug Baldwin, 'Fill Your Cellar’ with 48 hand-picked bottles by MCP Board Members, and much more. I’m not sure of the total raised, but my guess would be the night definitely “Raised a Record”.

The Gala was simply amazing and Bowman is extremely proud to be associated with the Melodic Caring Project who streams personalized live concerts to hospitalized children.
